When Thomas Quasthoff brings his new programm FOR YOU to life, he will be one thing above all: absolutely authentic. Quasthoff has an inherent feeling for the right style in everything that he sings. The „man with the most beautiful voice in the world“, as he was called by Stern magazine, knows exactly what he is doing and exactly what he wants. He now demonstrates in the field of jazz that interpretative intensity and unerringly good taste go hand in hand, just as they did in his unforgettable Schubert interpretations.

At his side there are three excellent jazz musicians. Dieter Ilg, who has been playing with Quasthoff since 2007, is one of the established greats of German jazz. More than almost any other bass player he knows how to exploit the possiblities of his instrument and to make it ideally suited to any context.

Wolfgang Haffner is Germany's most famous percussionist, who has made an unparalleled career stretching way beyong the bounds of jazz. His playing has poise and lightness of touch, is tight and compact, rocks and has a ravishing swing. The youngest member of the band is Simon Oslender. Originally celebrated as a prodigy at the Hammond organ, he now - at the age of 22 – ranks as a rising star of the German musical scene at the piano, organ and keyboard.
